No Kettlebell training for me this weekend, but instead I practised different variations of the Loaded Carry while on my teaching trip to Denmark.
What is it?
A simple, yet powerful strengthening (and posture/alignment) exercise:
You carry a Thing. Or several things. Preferably on the heavy side.
Like, for instance, a set of dance bags filled with DVDs. Or a suitcase.
All you need to do to turn this carrying-of-things into a super effective core and posture practise, is being mindful of your alignment and arm position – plus switching arms halfway if you’re carrying just one weight.
This is one exercise you could easily take ‘on the road’ – and a practical one to boot 🙂
Try it out!
