This weekend Mr E and I revisited a circular walk in Langerwehe, (Eifel), one which we first discovered a summer ago.

It was.. different. Darker. Wilder. More raw.

The winter storms have claimed their toll. It made our walk quite a bit more adventurous than expected.

We clambered, crouched, jumped and crawled,  making our way through the fallen giants.

In awe of the forces of nature.

A humbling experience.
