One of my favorite ways to spend autumnal walks is to get very close to tall trees, and look up. It helps me feel grounded and ‘light’ at the same time. Rooting down, standing tall, reaching up. Letting go in order to grow. Works in dance. And in life. As above. So below. And you?… Read More Looking Up
Walking through Water (from above and besides) This beautiful 4km walk (a portion of the ‘Cycling Through Water‘ route in Bokrijk, BE) featured big trees, a swan lake, many birds, falling fall foliage and epic shroomery. A lovely autumn walk with family ?
Last Sunday’s walk in the Wurmtaler Woods. It was a bit rainy at the start (and middle, and end), but certainly no less fun. In fact, the woods can be quite beautiful when it rains. This week’s favourite tree is one of two we visited during our most recent walk (the one with the tanks!) Münsterbusch & Brander Wald. We were lucky enough to spot these heralds of autumn on our Oberallgäu walks this September. Can you name them?
A gorgeous hike to the waterfall complex of Hinang, as well as the nearby ‘Eybachstobel’ in Oberallgäu, Bavaria. Enjoy!
Estimated to be at least 1000 years old (with a possibly even older root system) the Balderschwang Yew might just be Germany’s oldest tree. It’s rooted in the highest village of Germany, located in the south of Oberallgäu, Bavaria. We visited this ancient arborescence, way up in the clouds (the clouds were sitting low that… Read More Ancient Yew of Balderschwang
Our second hike in Overstaufen was the ‘Wild Waters’ route. About 11kms in length – 5 hours of gorgeous nature, waterfalls and mountain forest. komoot link outdooractive link Note: We didn’t use the lifts to get back to the car park as described for the last bit of the tour, but followed a footpath instead.… Read More Wild Waters Walk in Oberstaufen
I will miss this one. I’m noticing every single walk in nature leaves us slightly different. Senses are sharpened. Unblunted. Restful. Awake. Alert. A bit more quiet. A bit more brave. Closer to.. our Self? Hard to put it in words. It feels important. Picture taken on a gorgeous walk near the… Read More A Different View
